As-Samad
The Eternal Refuge
Prophetic Traditions
“Allah said: 'The son of Adam denied Me and he had no right to do so, and he insulted Me and he had no right to do so. As for his denial—it is his saying: He will not recreate me as He created me. As for his insult—it is his saying: Allah has taken a son.' And He is As-Samad who neither begets nor is begotten.”
This hadith qudsi affirms that As-Samad is free from having offspring—He is the self-sufficient eternal refuge whom all depend upon.
